My professional experience in the U.S. as an Event Planner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and a Multilingual Assistant at the Philadelphia International Airport has afforded me the opportunity to interact and manage people of varying levels and status. As a teacher in public and private schools in Japan for 5 years, I was able to refine my linguistic skills in both English & Japanese. Moreover, as a translator both in and out of an office setting for several years, I have grown accustomed to very stringent guidelines and schedules.
Educationally, I graduated from Temple University with a Double Major in Anthropology & Asian studies, along with Language Certificates in Japanese & Chinese, in 2005. Through this I gained experience in both the Social Sciences and in the critique/analysis of academic works. I did extensive research throughout that time, particularly during my senior year where I started Masters level coursework.
